New York - Day2

We woke up nice and early the next morning. After a filling breakfast at the hotel we drove back to Manhattan and parked the car again at Times Square. We got on to our tour bus and decided to visit ground zero and the other boroughs of New York. We got off at World Trade Center to pay our respects. It still saddens me to visit the site and you can't help but feel saddened at the scene.

From there we decided to get on the bus and visited SoHo, China town and also the bull.

By the time we were done with all of that - we were very hungry and found ourselves at China Town. The whole place was full of street vendors. There were vegetable and meat vendors lined on the streets all over the place. The place has a typical smell all over. There is even McDonald's there with the logo in Chinese - I thought that was very funny.

We decided to eat there at China town. And a special mention has to be given to the heat there. It was sooo hot that day. It was around in the 90s, so all of us bought hats to protect us from the sun on the open top bus.

After a Chinese lunch (mediocre!!) we boarded the bus and made our way to the Rockefeller Center.

After we were done with Rockefeller center we just sat there in the breeze near the fountain. We saw the NBC tower and other buildings and saw the Magnolia Bakery. The tour guide had told us in the bus that the best cupcakes in New York were at Magnolia Bakery.

We got the chocolate cupcake with chocolate filling and red velvet cupcake with cream filling. They were oh-so-good. I am not a cup cake/ muffin person, but they were soft, warm with a gooey filling inside - ummm.....!!!!

After sitting there people gazing for half an hour, we boarded the bus and headed back to Times Square. We headed to the Madame Tussaud's museum, bought the tickets and got in. Bought two big cups of gelatos (unfortunately no pics) - one was pecan and the other was mango - yum o!!

We started the Madame Tussaud's museum - needless to say it was quite entertaining to see.

After getting out of the Madame Tussaud's we ate chicken kababs from the food vendors on the street. Unfortunately no pictures were taken, but I have to add very very delicious.

We were right in time for the Brooklyn bridge night tour - to take in the night time views of the Brooklyn bridge, the skyline. One of my favorite things in New York.

It was a very calming and beautiful experience. Cruises and ships going their way. Statue of Liberty in the distance, the Empire State building in the other direction - it was a beautiful view.

After we were done got back on the bus and got back to Times Square - upon searching we found an Indian restaurant and ate our dinner there and headed back to the hotel to crash.
